In the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete made headlines by scoring the very first perfect ten in the world of sports. Additionally, she had six other perfect 10s, making her, at 14 years of young, the youngest Olympic medalist in all categories. The Romanian gymnast was able to draw international attention and help Romania to establish itself on the world map. This sporting legend became a global sensation when she scored a record-breaking score. The legend she created was legendary as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport all over the world.
